Margaret Mahy

Margaret Mahy died this week. She was a famous New Zealand children's author who lived in Christchurch.

Miss France shared her favourite book at assembly. I helped Miss France. I was Norvin out of  the book called The Great White Man Eating Shark.Norvin pretended to be a shark.He wanted to swim in the sea on his own.

Stepping Back in Time at Ferrymead Historic Village

  At Ferrymead I learnt that when the boys go inside houses they have to take there hat off. It was fun when we went to Miss Blacks class! She was very strict and grumpy!!!!  Elia

I learnt girls do every thing and ironing is fun . shyan . 

I learnt a scythe is 100 years old.it is used on my farm .by jason.

I learnt in the olden days the teachers were very strict.I also learnt that the washing was very different because we use a washing mashine and they did all there washing by hand.Ruby.

I learnt that they had no Queens back then.leah.

I learned Boys had to protect the Girls , The Boys had to go on the side of the road  so when the horse with the cart came and went through water the girls didn't get splashed.

Maori Language Week quiz

This week is Maori Language week 

Because we are learning about telling the time in Maths try asking the time in Maori.

New student councillors in Room 8

Room 8 have done their voting. Ashley and Elia are our student councillors and Paige and Luke z are our deputy school councillors. We are proud of it .

Holiday recommendations

Next holidays I suggest you should write a book and learn how to bind it, go to the rugby its awesome it has lots of music, and go to the movies they have lots of good movies.

In the holidays I went to the Crusaders vs Western Force and the Crusaders won 38-24. I also went to the Airforce Museum and went swimming at jelly park.I went to see Ice Age 4 and Snow White and the Huntsman. I also just relaxed at home and played the X Box. You should try these things next holidays. They are so much fun!!!!!!!! :) :):):):):)

In the holidays I went skiing at MT Hutt.I went to the terrain park and the summit it was  fun
in Little River.. Charlie and I went mud sliding- we got very muddy and it was fun
then i went to Charlies birthday.We went to Crusaders vs western force.The score was 38 to 24
