Christmas in Room 8

 What makes Christmas so special for us?

I love getting together with my family and having a holiday in the North Island (and no books to mark or Road Patrol to do in the rain!!! ).I love enjoying a sleep in in the  morning and catching up with friends. I think about how lucky we are living in such a great country when I go in the outdoors and have barbeques.Miss France

At Outdoor education this stop was about what you need to take with you when you go tramping!The things you needed

We are cooking sausages on an open fire. we have to stay there for a long time before  we can eat it.

Junior picture books

In room 8 we are learning about picture books. We all chose a picture book that we liked from the Harewood school library and read it to room 3. after we had read it we asked what they liked about the book and write what they liked into are journals. then we went back to are class and talked about what the little children liked about the book. Then we write into are journals some tittles of some books that we could write. we chose the best tittle and planed it out on a graphic organiser. then we got a storyboard and write what we were going to put on each page. then the teacher checked for spelling mistakes. then we stared to make the book. we also we added flaps, shiny bits and touch bits to are story. my one was the magic drawing. I got a golden prize award for my one.
