Today Miss France forgot about the new road rules and had a collision with Cameron and tipped blue dye all over him.He was such a good sort and we all had a laugh about it. He looked like a blue Smurf!! He will need a good long shower tonight. Sorry Cameron- from Miss France!

Sharing Our Learning

I showed my grandad my project I did at school.

On Friday we had some parents and kids come in to our classroom and we showed them our  projects.I learnt that  my Great Grandad was in the war.I enjoyed showing some facts about me and what I was like when I was little,I hope the parents and kids liked itand I also hope that they can come again when we do some more projects. I enjoyed it.

                                                           I have learnt that my Great great uncle was an all black and my star sign is capricorn and my birthstone is turquoise.

We had people coming in to see our family History project and this is a picture of me and mrs Sales

On Friday lots of people came to see our projects. I shared mine with my dad.I learnt that my birthstone was a ruby and my flower was a larkspur. I enjoyed doing my project it was fun. My Mum helped me. I laughed when I heard someone in my family painted a horse like a zebra

On friday we had some parents and kids came to look at our projects people were looking at them people write comments on our paper. I lerant that my grandad used to shear the sheep it was fun i lovedit people had fun too.

I am showing my family treasure chest to Mrs Greenwood the principal. I told  her that I am related to a Maori princess who owned 500 akers of Stewart island and I showed her a pitrure of the 500 akers and of the Maori princess. I told Mrs greenwood that I owned the oldest building in New Zealand and the first biggestfactory in New Zealand. It was in Invercargil. Jack

Ryan is back!

My name is Ryan I came to Harewood school when I was 5

years old.  I left and now I am  back.

Football with Mike

Today we learnt new football skills.We learned how to protect the ball from other people and to get the ball off people.We learnt some cool tricks like passing backwards with out people noticing.We played some cool games like dribble king but with a  soccer ball. It was SO MUCH FUN!

Claude Monet

Look what I have discovered Room 8- there is even a rose named after our famous artist.This rose is called Claude Monet.

We looked at Claude Monet's painting "Water Lilies and Japanese Bridge" then painted our own. We used a stencil of the bridge to get the shape right.Once we had painted the lily pond and the trees behind the bridge we removed our bridge stencil.

You can still visit Monet's garden in Giverny in France.The bridge and water lily pond are still there.

The Canterbury Museum's mummy

Cameron and Jason went to the museum .they went to  see the mummy The mummy was a girl. I got a photo of the  x ray of it. The cats were so special that they had to wear earrings on their ears.  the mummy  did  not curse us that was lucky. people think you might be cursde if you touch Tutankahmuns tomb!!!!!!!!!!! . People can look through the glass and see its inside.

We picked  broccoli  from  the  school  garden  today. Broccoli is healthy .  The  broccoli had a caterpillar on it. Shyan and Jason

I learnt that I am related to an American whaler who married a Maori princess who owned 500 acres of land on Stewart Island . My family owned the first biscuit factory in New Zealand back in 1821, they also owned the oldest building in New Zealand.My grandad, on mums side of the family, and I made a box to put family information in. I did not make all of the things on the box my grandad built some things on it too. I am very happy that I can give this box to my kids and their kids.it will be like a family heirloom. I will make something for my grandad to show how much I appreciated him helping me.Jack 

I  learnt  that  my name comes from England and it means  Man. I  also  learnt  that  my name's come from  Sales  comes  from  Germany, Thomas  comes  from  Greece  and  Holland,Charlie  comes  from  England.  I  also learnt  that my planet is moon and that  my star sign is  Cancer.  Charlie

I learnt that my name means a fathers joy.I also learnt that some of my family comes from Ireland.One of my facts are that my great grandad and my grandad where in world war two.Another of my facts are that I have been to ten different places in the world.This year on May 5 I will have an exam to get into grade 1 for piano.I have been playing the piano for four years. Abby

I learnt that I did not now that was my mums nana looked like that it was awsome to see all the things that i did not no I did not no that the picture was over 99 years old. and my nana just looked just like me and my mum. it was funny to see my mums pets and my mum has a pet dog and he was a pug and she had a pet cat and he died by 16 years old and when I was 3 years I meet ruby cox at preschool.

I found out that my great great great great great granpar gave my dad a speicle ring and now my sister has the ring and it is called a hareloom and I found out  that my name means the king in the bible and named after my auntys husbands brother in law and I found out that my star sighn is a dimond..

I learnt that my birthstone is Sapphire. My name means Loveable and  beautiful. My name is Roman \ England. My birth flower is Morning Glory .Annabelle

we are learning about family trees. we have been looking on the computer. we had lots of fun. i liked it when we brought our projects to school. i did not know that i went to a wedding. it was my first wedding. i did not know my grandad used to shear sheep.Cameron

When I did my family history this is what I learnt that my mum loved a shop called Ruby blanche so that is were she got the name Ruby from.I learnt that my name is both french and english.The name Ruby is a gem and it is red. I learnt that that the meaning of Ruby is Ruby.My time line is 2003 I was born 2003 my mum my dad Sarah-jayne and I moved to Glasnevin drive 2006 started pal school 2008 started harewood school This is my family folder i learned my 20 greats was king of Iraland and i also learned that it is commen to have a whole in your heart but my one was bigger so i had to get a patch in my heart.and when i pass this down i am sure they will love it .  Hope you will like everyones  projects on Friday .
